Happy Christmas!
This week has
been filled with Christmas cheer! I love this time of year!! The church has
recently released a new Christmas movie "He is the gift" that we have
been sharing with everyone.
It's simple but beautiful and it's not only helped those who
have watched it, but I have been able to rekindle the importance of the
Christmas season (: I have a quote on my planner from President Thomas S.
Monson that says "To catch the real meaning of the spirit of Christmas, we
need only drop the last syllable and it becomes the spirit of Christ." I
like that! What a wonderful season!!
all the sisters at the zone Christmas conference
This week We've had our Zone Christmas Conference, where we got
to watch "Its a wonderful life" ...I've never seen the movie before,
but it was a really cute movie with such a good message (although as a
missionary I felt like it got a little to risqué at times) haha I love the message
that it portrays. George, the main character gives up his dreams for the
betterment of others. Although he is a good hearted person, he becomes unhappy
and frustrated with his life because he sees all of his friends and family
going on to the "bigger and better" having adventures and becoming
rich. He gets to the point where he doesn't want to live any more and
at the point of throwing himself off the edge of a bridge into the
water below, his guardian angel comes and jumps in first! George saves him
and then they have a chat and George says that he wishes he was never
born. So the angel grants him this wish and life continues as if George
was never born. He then sees the immensity of what he has done for his
family and his community. It makes a HUGE difference! He realizes that his life
is full of meaning that he'd never really noticed before because
he was only focusing on the good everyone else was having and comparing it
to what good he was not having. The moral of the story is that we should
see the good that we do, that we make a difference, and that we are important
to God and to others. And in the end, the good comes back to us
when we do good deeds for others. Sacrifice is one of the greatest gifts we can
give one another.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man
than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
What a wonderful gift our brother Jesus Christ has given us. His
life! What greater gift could we possibly have?
We also had our ward Christmas breakfast this week, along with
the 1st Presidency Devotional which was filled with beautiful Christmas music
and warm messages.

We also had a Christmas Nativity Activity that was hosted by our

There
were nativities displayed from all over the world and they were so cool!
the indian one is my favorite (:
We
were able to bring along one of our investigators who absolutely loved it!
There was a wonderful spirit of love and peace there and the wonderful
acknowledgement that the nations of the earth know the birth of the savior
Jesus Christ.
It is such a beautiful time of year, full of family, and
friends, and the spirit.
happy winter!
